Moscow foreman Uncle Vova (Stanislav Lyubshin) and a young Georgian student, Gedevan (Levan Gabriadze), touch a stranger's teleportation device and land on the planet Pluke. Georgiy Daneliya sends them across its sand with two locals, Wef (Evgeni Leonov) and Bee (Yuriy Yakovlev), whose customs and language neither man can read. Vova stands in the desert in his coat, his dropped hopes for a loaf of bread and a bus home sinking into the sand.
