Kingdom Come

“They're not perfect, but they are family.”

Ray Bud Slocumb (LL Cool J) gets the call that his father has had a stroke and drives home to a family that has not shared a room in years. His wife Charisse (Jada Pinkett Smith), his sister Lucille (Vivica A. Fox), and his brother Junior (Anthony Anderson) all turn up for the funeral, along with every old grievance. Doug McHenry fills the house with arguments and casseroles, and grief here shows up as a family sitting down together because someone has died.
