“Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Safeguard the helpless, and do no wrong”

Balian de Ibelin (Orlando Bloom), a blacksmith in France, loses his wife and is pulled out of his forge into the Crusades, carrying a title he never expected. In Jerusalem he is drawn into a court of rival factions, where Tiberias (Jeremy Irons) advises him and the Hospitaler (David Thewlis) watches. Ridley Scott gives Balian and Sibylla (Eva Green), a princess bound to the throne, a closeness the politics around them will not allow.
