Kings & Queen

Days before her wedding, Nora (Emmanuelle Devos), who runs an art gallery in Paris, takes the train to Grenoble to see her young son Elias and her father Louis (Maurice Garrel), a professor just told his cancer is terminal. She also writes to Ismaël (Mathieu Amalric), the viola player she once loved, now locked in a mental hospital against his will. Arnaud Desplechin leaves us with Ismaël, whose problems are his own, a musician shut away from his viola.
