Kiss Me Deadly

“Blood red kisses! White hot thrills! Mickey Spillane’s latest H-bomb!”

Mike Hammer (Ralph Meeker) is a Los Angeles private investigator who stops for a hitchhiker on a lonely country road, a woman named Christina who has just escaped from an asylum. Thugs run his car off the road, and he comes to in time to hear her being tortured to death. Robert Aldrich keeps Hammer pushing forward from one bad lead to the next, and the film moves at his pace.
