Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye

(1950)Directed by Gordon Douglas103 minCrime, Thriller
“Unarmed… He’s dangerous. Armed… He’s lethal.”

In 1950, Ralph Cotter (James Cagney) breaks out of a prison farm in a hail of violence and heads for the city. He charms the sister of a dead inmate (Barbara Payton), pulls a crew together, and runs into the police who control the underworld there. Gordon Douglas's film, banned in Ohio for its brutality, shows a man whose appetite for the next thing leaves him no room to stop.
