Kit Kittredge: An American Girl

“Kit Kittredge, a resourceful young girl, helps her mother run a boardinghouse after her father loses his job.”

A lockbox holding every dollar the family has left goes missing from the house, and the first person the grown-ups blame is Will Shephard (Max Thieriot), a young hobo Kit trusts. Kit Kittredge (Abigail Breslin) is nine, her father has left to find work, and she and her mother (Julia Ormond) are renting rooms to boarders. Patricia Rozema fills that house with Stanley Tucci's Mr. Berk and the other lodgers, each with a story to tell.
