Klute
“You'd never take her for a call girl. You'd never take him for a cop.”
In New York City in the early 1970s, a man from Pennsylvania has vanished, and the only lead is a call girl named Bree Daniels (Jane Fonda). The detective sent to find him, John Klute (Donald Sutherland), moves into the building below hers and starts to listen. Alan J. Pakula builds the film around the two of them, a guarded woman and a patient stranger, and the careful distance she tries to keep from him.
