Knife in the Water

“Acclaimed by all! Roman Polanski's tense, ironic Drama!”

Andrzej (Leon Niemczyk) and his wife Krystyna (Jolanta Umecka) are driving to the lake when they nearly run down a young hitchhiker, and Andrzej invites him aboard for the afternoon. Roman Polanski, in his first feature, keeps the three of them on one small boat, where Andrzej needles the boy with every order and every boast. Krystyna watches the two men circle each other, and the boy's attention keeps drifting toward her.
