Knights of the Teutonic Order

In 1960 Poland's most lavish historical epic follows a young, impoverished nobleman and his uncle home from the war against the Teutonic Knights in Lithuania. Back among the living, he falls for Danusia (Grażyna Staniszewska) and swears an oath to bring her three trophies taken from the Order. Aleksander Ford adapts Sienkiewicz's novel, and the oath puts the young man's life and Danusia's future in the Knights' hands.
