Kokuho

In Nagasaki in 1964, fifteen-year-old Kikuo (Soya Kurokawa) loses his Yakuza father and wants only one thing, a place on the Kabuki stage. A famous actor takes him in, and Kikuo (Ryo Yoshizawa) trains for decades beside the actor's own son, Shunsuke (Ryusei Yokohama). Sang-il Lee follows the two across those years, and the film is about what a life given to an art takes from the people who give it.
