“All hail the king.”

Bill Randa (John Goodman) wants proof that monsters exist, and in 1973 he talks his way onto an expedition to an uncharted island in the Pacific. He brings along a tracker, Captain James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston), and a helicopter squadron led by Lieutenant Colonel Preston Packard (Samuel L. Jackson), a soldier from the Vietnam War. Jordan Vogt-Roberts sends them in under a sky full of rotor blades, and Packard is the one who cannot stop looking for a fight.
