Orsolya (Eszter Tompa), a bailiff in Cluj, goes down into a cellar one day to evict a homeless man, and what follows leaves her shaken. She spends the rest of the film trying to settle her conscience, talking it over with the people around her, including Priest Șerban (Șerban Pavlu). Radu Jude plays it as a black comedy and takes his title from Rossellini's Europe '51.
