Zhang Wuji (Jet Li) wants to reunite the quarreling martial arts clans and keep the Ming Cult from tearing itself apart. Wong Jing sends him through a loose adaptation of Jin Yong's The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber, with prized swords, rival sects, and a crazy monk chained to a rolling boulder. Sammo Hung's fight choreography keeps everyone flying, and Zhang Wuji is pulled into every quarrel he hoped to settle.
