L.A. Takedown

“If you thought Miami was rough, you haven't worked the streets of L.A.”

A heist crew in Los Angeles hits an armored car, and Vincent Hanna (Scott Plank), a driven cop, starts working his way toward the man who runs it, Patrick McLaren (Alex McArthur). Michael Mann made this in 1989 as a television pilot, and it later became the basis for his film Heat. Hanna and McLaren do the same kind of work with the same discipline, one holding a badge and the other a gun.
