La Commare Secca

Roman police detectives have a dead woman and no one to charge. She was a prostitute, and her body turned up in a park on the day of a torrential rainstorm. Bernardo Bertolucci, directing at twenty-one, has them question the suspects one at a time, among them a girl-crazy teenager, a pickpocket, a soldier on leave, a tourist and a pimp. Someone will be arrested for the murder, and the detectives only have these accounts to go on.
