La Mission

“Growing up in the Mission district of San Francisco, Che Rivera has always had to be tough to survive.”

The fact that his son is gay has been kept from Che Rivera (Benjamin Bratt), a reformed ex-con and bus driver raising Jes (Jeremy Ray Valdez) alone in San Francisco's Mission District. Once he learns the truth, the code he has lived by since his years inside is turned against his own boy. Peter Bratt sets the story among the neighborhood's murals and lowriders, with Che's standing among the men he knows hanging on how he answers.
