Lacombe, Lucien

(1974)Directed by Louis Malle138 minDrama, War

Nobody in the village can say why Lucien Lacombe (Pierre Blaise), a rural teenager turned away by the French Resistance for being too young, ends up working for the Gestapo instead. Louis Malle follows him through the last years of the occupation, as Lucien grows used to the power and falls for France Horn (Aurore Clément), a young Jewish woman. Pierre Blaise gives the boy a blank, easy face, and the film leaves it that way.
