“A Front-Row View Of The Burlesque World!”

A fight with the featured dancer Bubbles sends her out of the show, and Peggy Martin (Marilyn Monroe) steps out of the chorus line into her place. Her mother Mae (Adele Jergens), a former burlesque star, watches as Peggy falls for the wealthy Randy Carroll (Rand Brooks). Phil Karlson's film is about how far money can sit between two people who love each other, and what a mother will do to protect her daughter from it.
