Lady Bird

“Fly away home.”

She has given herself a new name, and nobody in Sacramento, least of all her mother, Marion (Laurie Metcalf), has agreed to use it. Lady Bird McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) is a seventeen-year-old in the early 2000s, opinionated and artistic, planning her way out of town and into college. Greta Gerwig follows her senior year, and Lady Bird keeps pushing toward the exit even as the people she is leaving keep pulling her back.
