Lady Bird

Lady Bird McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) is a high school senior in Sacramento who has renamed herself and dreams of escape. Her mother Marion (Laurie Metcalf) pushes her toward practical futures while Lady Bird reaches for art and beauty Marion can't understand. Greta Gerwig follows them through the senior year as they collide and separate, and what emerges is not a reconciliation but a reckoning.
