In South Korea in 2005, Lee Geum-ja (Lee Young-ae) walks out of prison after thirteen years inside for a murder she did not commit. She has spent every one of those years preparing, and the man she holds responsible is Mr. Baek (Choi Min-sik). Park Chan-wook closes the film on her bond with her daughter Jenny (Kwon Yea-young), a girl raised without her, who is a stranger to her.
