Ladybird Ladybird

Maggie Conlan (Crissy Rock) has had four children by four different fathers, and social services have taken every one of them because of a violent relationship in her past. Then she meets Jorge (Vladimir Vega), a gentle refugee from Latin America, and for the first time she lets herself think happiness might be within reach. Ken Loach films it in plain rooms and ordinary light, letting the camera stay on Maggie's face a beat longer than is comfortable.
