Lake Placid

“You'll never know what bit you.”

Black Lake, Maine, is a quiet, remote stretch of water until a man is eaten alive by a creature nobody can name. Game Warden Jack Wells (Bill Pullman) and New York paleontologist Kelly Scott (Bridget Fonda) are sent to find it, and they are joined by the eccentric philanthropist Hector Cyr (Oliver Platt) and Sheriff Hank Keough (Brendan Gleeson). Steve Miner keeps the camera on the water, flat and still, with Mrs. Delores Bickerman (Betty White) on the shore.
