L'Amore
Rossellini's two-part anthology rests on Anna Magnani, who plays a woman alone on the phone in the first half and a village girl named Nannina in the second. The first part adapts Jean Cocteau's play "The Human Voice" and keeps nearly all of it to one voice. The second, "The Miracle," follows Nannina after a wandering tramp (Federico Fellini) arrives in her life, and she carries what follows alone.
