L'Argent

Nicolas Saccard (Pierre Alcover) is a Paris financier who wants an empire, and the stock market is the only road to it. Marcel L'Herbier sets his story among the trading floors and banking houses of the 1920s, adapting Zola's novel for the screen. Around Saccard circle the Baronin Sandorf (Brigitte Helm) and his rival Alphonse Gunderman (Alfred Abel), each tied to him by money and ambition.
