“He's got 5 days to go coast-to-coast. (There's just one BIG problem.)”

A telegram tells motivational speaker Jack Corcoran (Bill Murray) that his father, a circus clown, has died and left him a "huge" inheritance. It turns out to be an elephant, and Jack, whose speaking gigs are the ones nobody else wants, plans to sell it fast. Howard Franklin sends the two across the country with Mo (Janeane Garofalo) and Terry Bonura (Linda Fiorentino) both after the animal, and Jack's only chance at a career rides on him letting it go.
