Lars and the Real Girl

“The search for true love begins outside the box.”

Lars Lindstrom (Ryan Gosling) is so shy that even sitting down to dinner with his brother and sister-in-law is more than he can manage. Then he announces he has a girlfriend, a woman named Bianca he met on the Internet, and she turns out to be a life-size plastic doll. Craig Gillespie sets the whole town to deciding whether to humor him, and the risk falls on Lars, who has only this one way of letting anyone close.
