“Best friends are forever.”

Matthew Turner (Tom Guiry) is a boy from the city, riding with his parents and sister Jennifer toward a sheep farm in rural Virginia where none of them has ever lived. A truck wreck stops them on the highway, and they take in the trucker's abandoned collie from the roadside. Daniel Petrie follows the family into the farmhouse and the feud with their neighbors, with the collie waiting at the edge of every scene.
