“Sometimes justice is a crime”

Rick Hayes (Rob Morrow), a young lawyer on his first week at a new job, is handed the clemency file of Cindy Liggett (Sharon Stone), a woman convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to death. Bruce Beresford follows him as he digs through her past with the execution date moving closer. The more he reads and the more he sits across from her, the more the case turns into a friendship neither of them planned on.
