“Their last mission wasn't on the battlefield.”

A phone call after thirty years brings three Vietnam veterans back together, and none of them can quite say why it took a death to do it. Larry 'Doc' Shepherd (Steve Carell) needs Sal Nealon (Bryan Cranston) and Reverend Richard Mueller (Laurence Fishburne) beside him to bury his son, a young Marine killed in Iraq. Richard Linklater sends them up the coast to New Hampshire with the casket, and Doc carries the war he never finished talking about.
