Last Harem

A sealed order is failing inside the harem of Sultan Abdülhamit II (Haluk Bilginer), and the empire that built it is close to its end. Safiye (Marie Gillain), an odalisque of Italian origin, wants only to become the sultan's first mistress, and the eunuch Nadir (Alex Descas) helps her toward it. Ferzan Özpetek shows a place built to serve one man's wishes, where everyone inside depends on him for their lives.
