Last Letter

At a funeral, Yuri Kishibe (Takako Matsu) goes to tell her sister's friends that she has died, and finds a letter meant for the dead woman arriving in her own hands. It comes from Kyoshiro Otosaka (Masaharu Fukuyama), an old flame who still writes as though nothing has changed. Shunji Iwai lets the letters travel between the living and the gone, and what lasts is how a person stays alive in the people who loved them.
