Last Night

“It's not the end of the world... there's still six hours left.”

The world will end at midnight on New Year's Day, and no one in Toronto says why. Patrick Wheeler (Don McKellar) wants to spend the last hours alone, but he has promised to sit through the final dinner with his parents, Mr. Wheeler (Robin Gammell) and Mrs. Wheeler (Roberta Maxwell). McKellar writes and directs the countdown at the pace of an ordinary evening, with the apocalypse kept offscreen.
