Last Summer

The tension starts the moment Théo (Samuel Kircher), a teenager raised by his mother in the city, shows up for the summer at the countryside house of his estranged father, Pierre (Olivier Rabourdin). His stepmother, Anne (Léa Drucker), is a lawyer who has built a settled life there, and the two of them start out in open friction. Catherine Breillat treats the taboo between them as a question of power, who holds it in a household and who pays for using it.
