L'Atalante

Juliette (Dita Parlo) marries Jean (Jean Dasté), a barge captain, and moves onto his boat, the L'Atalante, to live among his crew. Jean Vigo puts her in a cramped cabin with Père Jules (Michel Simon), the first mate, and a cabin boy, and the early days of the marriage are spent sharing a deck with other people. Parlo stands on the narrow boat in her white wedding dress, looking at the water.
