Late August, Early September

Adrien (François Cluzet), a novelist whose books once sold, is ill, and the friends around him are not quite saying what everyone can see. Gabriel (Mathieu Amalric) edits other people's manuscripts and moves between Anne (Virginie Ledoyen) and Jenny (Jeanne Balibar), while Olivier Assayas follows the circle through the heavy light of one summer. Gabriel stands in Adrien's flat among the books, a manuscript in his hands.
