Late Night

“They're giving comedy a rewrite.”

Katherine Newbury (Emma Thompson), a longtime late-night host, hires Molly Patel (Mindy Kaling) as the only woman in her all-male writers' room, a move meant to quiet complaints about diversity. Molly walks in with no experience and plenty of nerve, and Nisha Ganatra lets her pitch jokes to a staff that doesn't want her there. Katherine, meanwhile, is fighting to keep her show and her name from being replaced.
