L'Avventura

“A new adventure in filmmaking...”

In 1959, a group of wealthy Italians sails out to a remote volcanic island in the Mediterranean. Anna (Lea Massari) goes missing there, and her lover Sandro (Gabriele Ferzetti) and her friend Claudia (Monica Vitti) start searching, while Michelangelo Antonioni gives the empty coast and the slow days as much time as the plot. Searching together, Claudia and Sandro drift into a romance that she cannot stop feeling guilty about.
