Lawrence of Arabia

T.E. Lawrence (Peter O'Toole) is a young English officer posted to Arabia during the First World War, restless and more curious about the desert than his orders allow. He is sent to Prince Feisal (Alec Guinness) and takes up the idea of uniting the quarrelling Arab tribes against the Turks. David Lean shot it across wide, bleached sand, and Lawrence's closest bond forms with Sherif Ali (Omar Sharif), a man who starts out distrusting him.
