In Hong Kong under British rule, the barrister Chan Mon Gut (Stephen Chow) talks his servant Ho Foon (Eric Kot Man-Fai) into doing his errands for him. Ho Foon walks out, swearing never to need Chan's help again, until a charge of murder lands on him and he has no one else to call. Joe Ma Wai-ho puts Chow in a Western-style courtroom he doesn't know and keeps the jokes dry.
