Layer Cake

“The art of good business is being a good middleman.”

Nobody in the film ever gives the man at its center a name, only the credit XXXX (Daniel Craig), a London cocaine dealer who runs his business by a short list of rules and plans to quit while he is still ahead. One deal that should have been routine goes wrong, and Matthew Vaughn follows him as he has to break those rules to stay alive. The title is the layered order of London's criminal world, and Craig stands in a sharp suit near the bottom of it.
