Layla M.

In the Netherlands, 18-year-old Layla (Nora el Koussour) is the daughter of a Moroccan family and feels the pull of a country that never fully claims her. She finds a group of radical Muslims who take her ideas seriously, and she begins to pull away from her family and school. Mijke de Jong stays close to Layla's face and gives her no commentary, so we watch her choose without being told what to think.
