Le Beau Serge
Serge (Gérard Blain) has turned into a drunk in the years since François (Jean-Claude Brialy) left their hometown, and no one will say why. Claude Chabrol sends François back after a long absence to find his oldest friend drinking and the village closed around the reason. The film is about what a friend owes a man who is going under, and what it costs to stay beside him.
