The Ways of the Lord are Finite
Nobody can say why Camillo (Massimo Troisi), a barber in 1920s Italy, can no longer walk. The doctors find nothing wrong with his legs, only a sickness that came on after he lost the woman he loved. Troisi, who also wrote and directed the film, plays him as a man staying in the chair because he has nowhere he wants to go, and his father (Enzo Cannavale) is left to deal with it.
