Lean on Pete

“You can’t get anywhere on your own.”

Charley (Charlie Plummer), a teenager living with his single father, takes a summer job at a racetrack stable run by the trainer Del (Steve Buscemi). He grows attached to Lean on Pete, an aging racehorse, and when he learns the horse is headed for slaughter, he steals him and sets out across the American Northwest. Andrew Haigh follows a boy with no one waiting for him, and every mile feels like another thing he has to get through alone.
