Leave the World Behind

“There's no going back to normal.”

Amanda Sandford (Julia Roberts) rents a luxurious house for a weekend away with her husband Clay (Ethan Hawke) and their kids. Then the phones and the television stop working, and two strangers appear at the door: G.H. Scott (Mahershala Ali) and his daughter Ruth (Myha'la). Sam Esmail, adapting Rumaan Alam's novel, keeps the camera close and restless, so the dread builds from the house itself.
