“Some wounds you cannot see.”

Lee Miller (Kate Winslet) spent her youth as a celebrated fashion model, and by World War II she is a photographer who wants to be at the front, not in the studio. She gets there as a war correspondent for Vogue, working beside the photojournalist David E. Scherman (Andy Samberg) and answering to her editor, Audrey Withers (Andrea Riseborough). Ellen Kuras follows her through the war as a woman who keeps taking the picture, and the film is about what that costs her.
