London in the 1960s belongs to Ronald and Reginald Kray (Tom Hardy), twin brothers who run the city's underworld with charm and violence in equal measure. Detective Leonard 'Nipper' Read (Christopher Eccleston) builds a case against them while the twins' bond tightens and frays. Ron's instability deepens and Reggie's marriage to Frances Shea (Emily Browning) pulls him toward a life the brothers can never share.
