Leily is with Me

During the Iran-Iraq war, Sadeq (Parviz Parastouei), a television cinematographer, is stuck with a half-built flat and no money to finish it. A colleague points him toward a loan from the TV treasury, if he'll travel to the war zone with a man who holds sway there and shoot a documentary on Iraqi captives. He has no wish to go near the front line. Kamal Tabrizi plays the war for comedy, which was new for Iranian film when this came out in 1996.
