Les Bonnes Femmes

(1960)Directed by Claude Chabrol100 minDrama

Jane (Bernadette Lafont), Jacqueline (Clotilde Joano), Ginette (Stéphane Audran) and Rita (Lucile Saint-Simon) work behind the counter of a Paris shop for electrical appliances, under the eye of their boss, Monsieur Belin (Pierre Bertin). Claude Chabrol follows them out into the evenings, where each goes looking for a different kind of romance. Underneath the dates and the small talk, every one of them is waiting for a life that feels bigger than the one she has.
